Last Week's Quick News

  • On Wednesday, it was Fidel Castro and Danny Bonaduce's birthday. The Entertainment Gazette was quoted saying, "Both are very different. One's an aging tyrant that many consider to be the red menace that threatens America. And the other is Fidel Castro."

  • On Thursday, The Unibomber, Ted Kaczynski, who is imprisoned in a federal facility in Florence, Colorado, wrote a letter saying he's angry that his cabin is now on display in a museum. Well, FBI Officials "think" that's what the letter says . . . everyone's afraid to open it.

  • The Washington Times reports that John McCain and Barack Obama are both trying to get Angelina Jolie's endorsement and John Edwards is just trying to get her number.

  • On a similar note, Barack Obama has been emphasizing that Americans can save gas by properly inflating their tires and John McCain has been encouraging his supporters to change the tennis balls on their walkers.

  • President Bush was on a week-long tour of Asia; he visited South Korea, Thailand, and China. Or as the White House calls it, the "everything sold at Wal-Mart" tour.

    ....AND FINALLY

  • Mr. Won Hung Lo of the Beijing Globe reported, "We think President Bush was trying too hard to impress the Chinese president with his knowledge of the Chinese culture." Upon their initial meeting Bush said, "Can you snatch the pebble from my hand, Grasshopper?"
