Sterling Heights Man Broadcasts Worldwide Internet Talk Show From His Home

Sterling Heights, MI – February, 2006

Bob Redys is making waves reaching a wide range of audience interests via his EZHelp, You & More (EY&M) talk show that he does from home and broadcasts live over the Internet.  Bob, who goes by the on air name of Big Bob, broadcasts an Internet show every Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. ET which can be heard worldwide.  Using a Dell computer, the resources of the World Wide Web and a Java Applet program, Bob is able to reach a worldwide audience.  He is also able to take calls from his listeners, which have spanned from New Orleans to Chicago to New Jersey to the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.  A blend of topics like religion, relationships and politics can be found on the Internet but if it’s humor you want then EZHelp, You & More Show is the program for you.

Bob often spends upwards of ten hours a week compiling information and producing the two-hour EZHelp, You & More Show.  However, he’s the first to admit it would be nearly impossible to do without the help of ‘The Stars of the Green Room’.  “I’m very fortunate to have their help”, states Bob.  The “Stars of the Green Room”, (Daisy, Wacky Lud, and Justaguy) compile most of material for the show with each being responsible for their own topic.   “The Bozo Awards, Featured Web Sites and Audio Grab Bag segments are just a few of many topics on the show”, commented Bob.  “With the help of the Stars of the Green Room, I’ve been able to dedicate more time to our other topics like ‘Thoughts for the Week’, ‘Emails’, ‘Name Dat Song Contest’ and our ‘Roundtable Discussion’ segment’ which consists of a variety of nationally recognized topics and the listener can offer their view point LIVE on the air.”

After reading a news article by Detroit Free Press Tech man Mike Wendland, the EZHelp, You and More Show first broadcasted on June 2, 2001 utilizing the now defunct Lycos web site software.  Experimenting to determine the best day and time slot to broadcast, Bob settled on Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. and has broadcasted every Sunday since.

“Our 50th consecutive weekend show was broadcasted on May 12, 2002”.  “We gave away an EY&M T-Shirt to the winner of our ‘Guess Dat Pic’ contest”, said Bob.

“Today’s technology allows the broadcasting to be performed from different locations. We have broadcasted shows from Chicago, Bally’s Hotel in Las Vegas and even Oahu, Hawaii”, remarked Bob.  “With this software, we can do a show talking about politics, computers, entertainment and current events with no one telling us how to produce it.  It is great!  It is creative control and it is the future.  And to think that we can be heard overseas, anywhere, and at anytime.  This offers a perspective that you can not get on any local radio station”.  Technology isn’t the only thing going in the show’s favor.  His fast witted sidekicks make sure the “flow” of information continues during the show to eliminate any dead air time.  “Yeah, Daisy, Wacky Lud and Justaguy keep me on my toes during the entire two hours’, Bob admitted.

On April 23, 2003, Bob and The Stars of the Green Room needed to call upon their flexibility when it was announced that Alternacast would no longer host talk radio.  "This was a very bad break for us", Bob commented.  "The announcement was made just before our 100th consecutive weekend show".  However, utilizing their skills the group planned for another change of venue.  They found PalTalk.com.  "This was a blessing in disguise", stated Bob.  “Folks can join us in the Green Room Studio and utilize the interactive chat feature during the show’s broadcast all for FREE! We also found, in our research, that we could stream the entire show (send audio) LIVE to www.ezhelp.org and numerous other web sites on the Internet."

However, the utilization of technology did not stop there.  On January 19, 2006 the EZHelp, You and More Show explored their broadcasting resources and moved to a new studio within Ventrilo.  "The ability for the Stars of the Green Room to interact was exactly what we wanted", stated Bob. "The microphone can now be shared allowing the show to sound like a telephone call", he said.  In addition, the show created its own chat room where listeners can interact with each other and listen to the show at the same time.

In March of 2006, the Observer-Eccentric Mirror Newspaper did a featured story on the EZHelp, You and More Radio Show.  "Pat Dutcher, editor of the newspaper, did a wonderful job describing the show and even printed a picture with my grand-dog Theo and me sitting on the couch", Bob remarked.

In April of 2006, The Detroit News requested an interview so they could print a featured story about the show. "Ms. Iveory Perkins' did a terrific article.  She explained the show contents and various segments."   Perkins scheduled a photo shoot to be conducted during a live broadcast. "It was perfect timing when the photographer, Jeffrey Sauger, was taking pictures while we were conducting a live interview with Sheriff Michael Bouchard of the Oakland County Sheriff's Department."

It is plain to see that nothing or nobody can keep this team down for any period of time.  Their ingenious methods to keep the broadcasting flowing is second to none.
